Mission Health Group is a management services organization. It does not practice medicine, employ physicians to provide clinical care, or control the medical decisions of any physician-led entity. The physician Professional Corporation and its Medical Director retain full authority over clinical operations, protocols, supervision, and quality governance.
This structure is both a compliance requirement and a trust feature. California's corporate practice of medicine doctrine requires that clinical control remain with physician-owned entities. Mission Health Group is built to operate within that framework — providing non-clinical infrastructure support while preserving physician authority where it legally and professionally belongs.
The following decision rights are held by the physician-led entity and its Medical Director — not the MSO:
Mission Health Group holds authority over non-clinical operations: staffing logistics, scheduling systems, facilities, vendor coordination, documentation operations, reporting, and financial administration.
The platform operates under a formal monthly oversight structure chaired by the Medical Director. This recurring cadence covers clinical operations, quality assurance, compliance, credentialing, supervision, protocol review, and scope-of-services governance. Meeting minutes, decision logs, and corrective actions are documented and stored in an audit-ready format. Physician approval is required before any new service line or material operational change goes live.
Mission Health Group standardizes non-clinical workflows, reporting, site support, and operational coordination to create a more predictable environment around physician-led care. The physician-led entity governs clinical operations. The MSO supports everything else.
