A CLIA-certified laboratory meets federal standards under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) for quality, accuracy, and reliability of testing. Certification ensures that equipment, procedures, and staff training meet regulatory requirements for laboratory operations.

Types of Tests We Perform

The laboratory at Mission Health Group offers a range of commonly ordered tests.
Rapid tests include influenza, strep throat, COVID-19, pregnancy, and blood glucose. Routine blood work covers complete blood counts, metabolic panels, lipid and thyroid profiles, and diabetes monitoring through hemoglobin A1c. Urine testing is available for infection, metabolic disorders, or drug screening. Additional testing includes electrolytes, liver and kidney function panels, and specimen collection for specialized send-outs.

How the Testing Process Works

Your provider determines which tests are needed based on symptoms or medical history. Samples—blood, urine, or swabs—are collected on-site by trained medical assistants or phlebotomists. Most analyses are performed in-house within minutes or hours; certain specialized studies are referred to external laboratories. Results are reviewed by your provider before discharge or at a follow-up appointment, and documentation is available upon request.

Turnaround Time

Rapid tests are typically completed within 15 to 30 minutes. Basic blood work is usually processed the same day. Specialized panels and external studies are generally available within 24 to 72 hours, depending on complexity and workload.

Cost and Payment

Mission Health Group offers transparent self-pay pricing. Patients receive a Good Faith Estimate outlining expected costs before testing, and payment is collected at the time of service. Rapid tests generally range from $20 to $30 each. Standard blood panels fall between $25 and $40. Specialized panels vary according to external laboratory rates. Insurance billing will be available once credentialing is complete.

Staff and Oversight

All laboratory testing is performed under the supervision of licensed providers and qualified laboratory personnel. Equipment calibration and quality control checks are conducted daily in compliance with CLIA standards. The laboratory also serves as a supervised training environment for medical assistant and phlebotomy students completing their externships.

Why On-Site Testing Matters

On-site laboratory services allow Mission Health Group to diagnose and treat conditions during a single visit, reduce delays caused by external lab referrals, improve diagnostic accuracy, and enhance continuity of care. The setting also provides a real-world learning environment for new healthcare professionals.
